I'm sorry. You were going to ask me to choose, right? Did you want to finish?

Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Less than favorable but amusing review of SG1 from a Farscape fan tuning in for the first time: [link]

If I only had a brain...

Her work on Farscape proved her a hugely classy and talented actress, even in the most bizarre situations. Having her done up as shameless nerd bait seems somewhat beneath her dignity.

Huh? She's an actress. By all accounts, she's thrilled at the chance to play a character with no dignity at all. Browder is playing Crichton all over again; Black is playing somebody completely unlike Aeryn. I bet I know which one is more of a challenge.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I love Claudia, but I don't think you can hold the character of Vala up as bad judgement for someone who had a bit part in Queen of the Damned.

This line really cracked me up:

Former star Richard Dean Anderson, in his few brief appearances before exiting the series for good, has seemed bored to the point of stupefaction, delivering emotionless lines while scanning the horizon for his paycheck. For shame, MacGyver!

So that's what he was looking at over Shanks' shoulder! They must have been waving it at him like a doggie treat to get him to perform.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Mr. Spock’s NFL-linebacker cousin

This is just perfect.

(And absolutely What Betsy Said re: CB. I suppose if all of CB's post-Farscape roles were flaky sexpots, there'd be a point there, but...yeah.)

Well, nobody's ever said Stargate was OMG Quality Television! It's fun. It's likeable. It's very often goofy.

And I agree -- I think CB is having a blast with the role.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Just watched Wraithal Discriminaiton - it does look like the crew have a lot of fun with this show. I love the fact that the Wraith all get their own names, even if we don't always hear them on the show. Darrel the Wraith. Bob the Wraith. Great stuff.

Ah, beg pardon. My dl was more than a trifle blurry during the title shots.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Skye, check out LJ's sg_episodes, as there have been YSI links to the short, which IIRC is off the British DVDs -- it's a behind-the-scenes documentary about the Wraiths, who plays them, what the producers and cast think about them. It's actually pretty funny, somewhat in part because it seems like all the guys who play Wraiths must have spent serious time in Improv Olympics.

Incidentally, I think it takes quite a bit of acting ability to look studly and serious when Claudia Black is chewing the scenery grandly, loudly, and very funnily right in front of you.

You know, I've just figured out who Vala reminds me of, and it's Flash on Black Adder. Woof!
