I'm thinking that maybe they shipped him through the Stargate with other wounded. Beckett didn't sound like Bates's injury was something they could easily take care of on Atlantis (or maybe with everything going on).

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies
