A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I leanred (from a spoilery post at AICN) that BSG will air the first 10 episodes of season 2 this summer; the remaining 10 eposided of the season won't start to show until next Jan.

Boo. OTOH they're still making episodes, so I guess there has to be a break somewhere.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

For what it's worth, that's the same schedule Sci-Fi's been using for its original shows for years, so don't worry that it's some comment on BSG's quality or prospects.

Art Crawl!!!

Well, that is the same schedule that SG1 and SGA are on.

Oh no, I wasn't worrying about that; I just want everything all at once. Or, you know, before January. But I'll live.

IOPerplexingN, there was a commercial for the season 1 DVDs of BSG. They said that the British versions of the DVDs will go on sale tomorrow (presumably region 1). The regular, US version will go on sale in Sept (20th, IIRC) with the US music and whatnot. The commercial gave the URL battlestargalacticadvd.com, but that redirects to a page about the original series DVDs, and I can't find any other info about this release.

Ever fired your gun in the air and yelled, 'Aaaaaaah?'

I have a media question. I'm searching Amazon for a new DVD player and this one says:

PAL-to-NTSC format conversion--great for viewing non-region-encoded European discs

Does that mean it plays Region 1 and Region 2 DVDs? That's what I'm trying to find.

NoiseDesign - Jul 25, 2005 3:26:11 pm PDT #2499 of 10001
Our wings are not tired

No, that one will play DVD's that have no region encoding but are in PAL format. If you want to play all regions then you need to get a region-free DVD player. This are not sold directly to the consumer, but there are very often hacks that allow you to use DVD players in this way. Do a Google Search for Region Free hacks and see what models of players come up us the most reliable and then get one of those.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

ates is the mighty good looking but often crotchety sgt. with whom Teyla, in particular, does not get along. Or, more accurately, he does not get along with or trust Teyla much.

Right. He's like their head of security or something. Didn't something happen to him after the last time he and Teyla argued? Or am I misremembering?
