It's maybe the source planet for all the 12 colonies plus the lost Earth tribe. I think.
Yes.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Yes.
Okay. So it's pre-Earth? Is that right?
Cause the teaser said, "Searching for Earth," which I was pretty sure was wrong, but I couldn't remember what the deal actually was.
OOOh the Red-eyes are coming!
Ho. Lee. Shit!
Damn. The season 1 finale (which I just rewatched) and this episode are some of the best TV I've seen.
OOOh the Red-eyes are coming!
Yeah. Didn't anyone think to check out the ship that deliberately crashed into the hanger deck?
Kobol was the first home of humans. There were 13 "tribes" that left, fo some reason I can't remember. 12 became the united colonies with the Zodiac names. The 13th went to Earth. Now that the colonies are lost, Earth is the only place where they can find other humans.

They had other things on their mind.
No - that's right - searching for Earth. Adama used that to rally the fleet way back in the beginning (maybe the mini), though he actually didn't know where it was - not sure if he believed it was real. Then Roslin started getting her visions and such, and now she believes in its existence and that they were supposed to find it. She sent Starbuck off to Caprica in search of the Arrow of Apollo, which Roslin thinks will help lead them to Earth.
OMG - there's Ben Browder!
Ah. Well, now I feel kinda dumb.
I know the difference between accomodation and modification, though, if anyone needs it.
