Well, yeah. There are only five of us here.

Hush, you.

I want Helo to figure out something's up with Boomer soon . . . but will he tell her? Then she'd just kill him -- so until he suddenly shoots her up or something we wouldn't know that he knew, you know?

I'm wondering, and this is complete and total speculation, if they're setting up Caprica!Boomer to replace Galactica!Boomer after Galactica!Boomer goes all "Kill all the humans!"

Why isn't Baltar telling anyone what he knows?

I think he's starting to feel jerked around by everybody, even the hot chick in his head, and has decided to stop playing ball. An admirable choice, I'd say.

Our wings are not tired

I think more likely he's playing WITH his balls.

Well that sort of goes without saying after last night, no?

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I also think he doesn't want the first Cylon he tells to instantly activate and kill him dead.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, well he could just wait until the cylon leaves and then tell Adama (or whoever).

"Hey baby, wanna kill all the humans?"

There is considerable overlap between the intelligence of the smartest bears and the dumbest tourists.

I was vaguely annoyed by the sudden switch sequential episodes between 'takes minutes' and 'takes hours' on the test. Clearly Baltar thought the short version worked or he wouldn't have been so nervous about Boomer when she tested positive. And he wasn't lying about the eight hour thing given his soliliquy about suicide would be preferable to having to spend all those hours testing. I could possibly buy it taking slightly longer, but going from 80 seconds to 8 hours stood out as 'the test will be whatever we need to it be for this episode'.

My wank for that is that Boomer must have left and come back for her results eleven hours later.

(Of course, if everyone passes, then why run the real test at all? Why not just the Cylon tester make some beeping noises for a few minutes and then flash green?)

Last week, Baltar agreed to test Boomer right after Starbuck started the interrogation. He gave her the results right before Roslin decided to talk to Leoben. So it didn't take 11 hours, but it was at least 6 or 7.

I think Baltar decided to pass everyone because once he starts identifying Cylons, one of the unidentified ones is going to kill him. But if he passes them all, they're highly motivated to keep him alive.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

if everyone passes, then why run the real test at all? Why not just the Cylon tester make some beeping noises for a few minutes and then flash green?

Because then he knows.

This was the ep where I got fed up with Baltar. I'd been tolerant of his cartoonishness because I could buy him waffling.

Weak good to neutral people who end up doing some bad -- I'm down with. Weak bad people who end up doing some good? Much less interesting. I want bad people to be worse, really.

And he moved from too weak to be properly good to cartoonish.
