I have a friend who is a freelance book editor, mostly for authors who want their mss cleaned up before they submit them and for self-publishers. However, she doesn't think she's the best editor to tackle this:

Kiss Me, Straight is a gay romance about Todd, a San Francisco-based flight attendant who struggles with a lifelong, self-defeating attraction to straight guys. His best friend Katie, a former flight attendant herself, owns a vacuum cleaner repair shop in Todd’s apartment building and thinks he needs to get over his obsession with unattainable men and give a real relationship a try.
