We killed a homeless man on this bench. Me and Dru. Those were good times. You know, he begged for mercy, and you know, that only made her bite harder.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Congratulations, Allyson!!! That is very press worthy.

What is even happening?

Allyson, that's so great. I love the cover, too!

Because books.

Awesome, Allyson! Wow, they put those pre-sales up early. Very cool.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

OMG, Allyson!! That is so cool!!!!

sara's drabble reminded me

They've obviously got this worked out. The big fake dead branch stretches towards the back of their enclosure and ends about head high two feet from the big plexiglas window. A bunch of monkeys are gathered around the far end.

"Look, spider monkeys. They're so cute. Look, one of them's running towards--"

WHAM!

Plexiglas shudders in the frame, the monkey rebounds off the window to the floor, humans jump back, spider monkeys bounce up and down, yelling in delight and all but pointing and laughing. The humans scurry away, embarrassed at being made fools of by monkeys.

Hubby and I pause just down the way. The folks behind us stop at the window.

"Mommy, look, monkeys!"

"Oh, look, one of them's coming up to see us--"

WHAM! Scream.

You've got to make your own fun.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Hah. Good one, on both counts.

Hee. The raven described above was based on a real one. Conversation, well...I made that up. But it was a very friendly/greedy raven. So awesome.

Yay Allyson!

The spider monkeys are at Salt Lake's Hogle Zoo. They take turns running up their fake tree limb and jumping at the faces of people who stop to look at them. The zoo should put a bench nearby so cruel people--like Hubby and me--could watch the fun.
