Wow. March just handed me more good news...
Dear Ms. Taylor:
We would like to use your submission, "Letters from the Past," as a "Snapshots" feature in a future issue of English Journal. More details will follow in the coming weeks, including the official acceptance materials, but I wanted to inform you of this decision now. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely, Theresa Kay
Thank you SO MUCH. You all helped me so much when I was editing this piece.
That's great news, Kristin!
Yay! Kristin, congrats.
Also to Susan for 100 pages.
I read that yesterday, Susan, but I forgot to say anything. I think 100 pages was when I knew I wasn't going to stop writing it. Because that is a lot of time to throw away.
Yep. This time around, 100 pages before the end of March means that barring some kind of disastrous life disruption, I'll have a rough draft by the end of the year, quite possibly with a month or two to spare.
Yay to Kristin, AND yay to Susan on reaching 100 pages.
Yeah, Kristin! I get "English Journal" and will be eagerly looking for your piece, and probably blabbing "Look! I know her! Isn't that cool?!"
Hee! Erin, I'll let you know when it's going to be published. I imagine it won't be for several months. Of course, the essay itself is incredibly tragic and doesn't exactly show me in the best light...maybe you should say, "I know her! She's much cooler than this!"
Thank you everyone. And YAYAYAYAYAY to Susan! 100 pages!
