It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Why fat chance? Seems to me to be right up their alley, and lord knows, the quality of the essay is certainly not an issue.

Man, I'd love to hear your voice coming out of my stereo. I think your style would fit very well with the show, so I'm quite hopeful. I could also see some time NPR does a handwringing report over internutness, one of your pieces as commentary antidote, too.

Always Anti-fascist!

My article on "House" came out today. It looks really good.

erika, you're amassing a nice little resumè of press pieces. When it comes time to hit an agent with AMC, this will come in handy.

It's one reason I love doing anthology submissions; keeps the name green and the skills honed.

Always Anti-fascist!

That one in particular will be helpful, with its long discussion of the "defective detective" trope.

Definitely. Because whereas you've got the day-to-day living cred associated with being in the chair, that wouldn't necessarily ping prospective editors or agents that you could write it.

The resumè of articles and short fiction seals that deal for you.

Yay Allyson, yay erika!

And erika, on the day-to-day cred deb talks about, they always say "write what you know" - but that requires that you be able to write to start with. And you can.

eta: Deb, I sent something snail mail to you (in case my scrawl was completely unreadable).

TODDSON! I was just sitting down to email you - I was too out of it yesterday to even open the post that was waiting for me.

Yes, it's thread-relevant: Toddson sent me a sheet of "FOAD" stickers. If I get stuck with Mr. Post-it again, he's going to get a nice close look at the big-ass stickers.
