_t! Go get 'em!
The Great Write Way, Chapter Two: Twice upon a time...
A place for Buffistas to discuss, beta and otherwise deal and dish on their non-fan fiction projects.
I finished my paper! I have been told it is a good, strong paper and not bad for my first paper in..ever,
WHOOT!
Now I have to work on the other one that's due a week from Sunday.
Way to go, Aimee. Those papers will be routine for you soon, it's good you're getting off to a strong start.
Thanks for the cheerleading, deb, it got me through a page beyond what I had planned to write today!
Many yays! For Kalshane, and Aimee, and -t!
-t, what is the WIP about? Is this the children's book, or something else?
This is a scifi novel about the development of teleportation technology. Light and funny in 28 10 page chapters, with an important plot development every 4 chapters. At least that's what I'm aiming for.
I can't quite figure out what to do with the children's book - I think it is probably too long, but I don't know how to cut it, and sending it cold to agents seems like such a long shot I've pretty much given up. Which is a shame, because I like it and would like to give it a chance, but I'd rather spend my time writing.
Aimee's paper is very good. She edited the hell out of it, too. It's improved 100-fold since I first read it. GO EMPRESS!
-t, go you too! Woot!
-t, that sounds like it's going to be fun! Good luck. And, if you need a beta, I'll be glad to look at it for you. I'm not the fastest turn around, but I will get back to you.
I will happily take you up on that, Sail. Probably next weekendish.
Sometimes escape comes in the form of a task so demanding that there is no room for anything else. Flying was like that for me. I miss it.
drabble:
Freedom comes with the clank of the tow release; the towplane rolls left and drops out of sight as I turn right and climb up and away. The mundane world is left behind -- people and work, chores and errands, traffic and frustration, lists and plans and restrictions. My world shrinks to the feel of the controls, the sound of airflow, quick glances at the instruments, balance and motion in four dimensions. My world expands to the distant horizon as I plan my route and set off, finding the clouds that mark the thermals, finding peace in the joy of soaring.
dcp, that does sound joyful. I'm sorry you don't get to do it anymore.
