No studying? Damn! Next thing they'll tell me is I'll have to eat jelly doughnuts or sleep with a supermodel to get things done around here. I ask you, how much can one man give?

Because books.

Deb, I can read it when Sara's napping.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Amy, insending. No rush - and it's very short.

Need to come back here after errands and lunch and write the next 2000 or more words on New-Slain Knight. Hoping for some serious feedback on this one from my WIP readers, because it's the "buy me!" thing, but so far, feedback's been minimal.

Thanks Amy. I did reply to your reply; the insent message was put in before you responded.

And I'll share the good news. One of the larger small publishers out there has asked for a manuscript in response to my queries. Amy told me that it is fine to respond to this - just disclose to both publishers that the submission is now multiple. Hopefully this won't stop them from considering it.

Gar! Excellent!

Raq, insending momentarily, after I fix a floating "My".

Drabbling.

Once they threw out a whole bowl of stew. I scraped off the mold and had a couple good meals, and a new bowl to boot. Another time they threw out a rug. Stained, but warm around me in the cold nights. Mostly it was just bits though – a chicken leg with some meat still on, the peels from vegetables. Nights after their dinner parties were the best for scrapings. There’d also be candle stubs, and wine dregs in bottles. Flowers too.

I saw her once, as I crept out one evening. And she saw me. In a way we shared a table.

Oh, good one. Makes me uncomfortable.

Raq, that's fantastic. I love the last two sentences especially.
