Angel: I appreciate you guys looking out for Connor all summer. It's just—he's confused. He needs time. That's all. Fred: Right. Time, and some corporal punishment with a large heavy mallet. Not that I'm bitter.

Because books.

...And Death for Dessert

Ooh, I like this, too, but I don't think it gets across the romance as much. And I think Editor is leaning toward more romance, less mystery in the title.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

My mind keeps going to a "Naked Chef" place -- too bad it's taken. Also, too bad my mind has to come back from said place....

Death by Chocolate

I don't have to look that up. Tons of food oriented mysteries out there. A huge part of the mystery market - most of them with heavy romance crossover.

So a lot of the good titles are taken.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

More romance and less murder in the title. Hmmm.

Kiss the Cook

edit: or, slight rephrasing of tense:

Kissing the Cook

A student just walked into my office wearing a t-shirt with

DROP THE CHOCOLATE AND NOBODY GETS HURT

on it. More screwball crime-spree than romance, but it still seemed to fit the current discussion.
