Heh. Nic says he wants to come down for that one too - he wants to scope out the tech.

A place for Buffistas to discuss, beta and otherwise deal and dish on their non-fan fiction projects.
Deb, that is ... nope, I'm out of words, and have progressed straight to "Squeeeeeeeeee! Yay yay yay yay!"
Ooooh, you get to go to Magic. If you can, could you please make a minion/assistant -type grab catalogs from the gothy/alternative companies for me? I really do need them for research, not just for going Oooh Shiny at.
I really think an old-fashioned rocker's view of the modern hip-hop scene would be fascinating reading. Heck with Vibe, run it past Rolling Stone, too.
Not to feel like the Ancient Mariner and his albatross, but I'm glad you'll have ita backing you up at the clubs. Daymond's name should be sufficient to keep the twits at bay, but I still expect some jackhole to make a fuss about his story being written by Deb.
Heh. I'm going to be surrounded. And Jilli, yep, will do.
In a burst of complete synchronicity, we're watching "Be Cool". I am laughing my ass off.
7,960 words need to be written by Friday.
Am I purposefully sabotaging myself? The hell?
I just read and commented on your Catalina essay. It may be the best one of the entire collection, in terms of clarity and simplicity.
I also popped it into a blank word doc and did the auto wordcount. It came in at 2,826 words.
So, 2.5 essays of this length. And I don't think your editor is going to slam over a thousand words or less, so call it two essays.
Doable, surely?
I am bouncing up and down with glee for you, Deb! Congrats, rock on, babe! I'm so happy all this good stuff is happening to someone I know, who totally works her ass off and deserves it!
Whoa.
Dude.
Whoa.
Daymond is not with the stingy, is he?
Also, what Erin said.
Nope. NOT with the stingy. The problem is that I'm extremely not with the comfortable taking any of it. I managed to avoid all the perks during the Nice Piano years. This should be easier - it's work, not love - but it isn't.
Eh. I'll deal.
I hear you about not being comfortable with it, but yeah, it's work. And Daymond gets what he wants out of it (his story told, and exposure and stuff), and he wouldn't offer all this if it wasn't worth it to him. And he's gotten where he is today by his own work, but also by friends and contacts being not-stingy with him, so I totally admire him sharing that karma.
Especially since he's sharing it with one of my peeps! Good man.
