Jilli's dad rocks.
Not shockingly, her parents are both charming and entertaining people.

My dad is the bestest ever. So's my mom. If I could wrangle the finances so I could bring them along to the F2F, I would.
Pass the Kleenex, wouldja?
Yeah, I had to go take out my contacts after reading that because my eyes were already watery from not enough sleep. But I really wanted to share that with everyone.
If I could wrangle the finances so I could bring them along to the F2F, I would.
We could crown them King Dad and Queen Mom and have a little ceremony and then we would have thrones for them to sit in at prom and...
Sorry. Got a little carried away.
Aw, also loving Jilli's dad. How would one be a perkygoth's little sister? Borrow her batwings and not give them back?
Ah, so Jilli's delightfulness is nature AND nurture.
Why does this not amaze me?
Dad proudly tells people he raised me to be his revenge upon The Universe, and he feels he's succeeded.
Damn, Jilli, I still think my dad is the Best Dad Evah, but he doesn't have the Lyrical. I kinda want yours as backup!
I haven't been in for a week or so because the last week has been Of the High Suck, but I just want to say this drabbles this week are great...and I am down on my fucking knees, grateful, that I have to think hard of anything I could drabble about.
My parents have definite issues: my dad was an alcoholic, they divorced, the remarried, but he's been sober for over 20 years, My mom is agoraphobic and a hypochrondriac, but they've always told me the truth about all the important stuff, and I have never truly in my soul doubted that they love me and would die for me. And they have always, always been proud of my talents and supportive of me, even when I was fucking up hardcore.
The longer I live, the less I take them for granted. Thank you, universe.
Sticking my exhausted in to squee.
Peter Straub and his wife Susan are coming over to dinner Saturday night. I am melting. He's one of my writing idols. We recited the opening paragraph of "The Haunting of Hill House" together.
Chelsea Quinn Yarborough may be coming along, as well.
But PETER STRAUB! The man who wrote "Ghost Story" and "Floating Dragon"!
MEEP MEEP MEEP MEEP.
I second the "Meep" for Straub. Always loved his character driven poetic horror.
Even thinking about the opening of "Hill House" raises my goosebumps. Very MEEP for Straub indeed!
Jilli, that's just lovely. Thank you for sharing.
