Allyson, is there room at insane? I need a place on that bench and will be happy to keep you company if you wish, while I a) wait for SMP to turn loose of money they owe me, and b) wait to hear anything at all back on either the paperback sale of Haunted Ballads or Lyssa Keusch's reaction to the Kinkaid Chronicles.
The Great Write Way, Chapter Two: Twice upon a time...
A place for Buffistas to discuss, beta and otherwise deal and dish on their non-fan fiction projects.
It's totally craxy-making.
I keep thinking that I've come this far, and everything has happened almost by magic what with having an agent contact me, and it all happening so quickly and goddamn I am fortunate...but then all the publishers could turn me down cold.
And then what will I do? Besides throw up a lot?
Then she'd send it out to 15 more publishers.
I know - it really is crazy-inducing.
Fucketyboo.
I am in crushland with this word, Deb. I don't know if I've ever seen you use it before, but I find it utterly charming.
Heh. I use it only rarely. It's when my basic profanity seems either too much, or else utterly insufficient.
basic profanity seems either too much, or else utterly insufficient.
And that's why it works! It's almost like you were saying, "fuck it--oops!" People can't get upset with anything ending in -boo.
I wonder if I could walk up to George Bush and yell "You're a MURDERING LYING HEARTLESS FUCKETYBOO!" and not go down in a hail of Secret Service gunfire....?
Deb, Greg says someone absconded with the Booklist, but he's determined to track it down, and also his favorite branch ordered 4 copies. That's a pretty unheard of amount for them.
Four copies of Booklist? Or four copies of Matty?
I am taking a break from Cruel Sister today, and rereading chunks of While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
I'm stone blissed. The damned book is better than I remembered it being. I'm hellaciously pleased with myself on the Kinkaid stuff, considering how much I had to bleed to get it done.
Come onnnnnnnnnnn, Nice Editor At Avon! BUY it!
Oops, four copies of Matty. They normally only buy one copy of most books, two or three of the really popular ones since they're in the Cleveland Public system and are able to borrow from other libraries very easily.
They have a weird interlibrary loan system here. Libraries in the cleveland system borrow from one another as if they're all branches of one another, but can't borrow from libraries in the county system, and vice-versa.
