Marco: Do we look reasonable to you? Mal: Well. Looks can be deceiving. Jayne: Not as deceiving as a low down dirty... deceiver.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I've added it to coming attractions in my profile, so I won't forget, after Serenity opens. Thanks!

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Exhausted and as limp as a wet rag, so I can't get too fiery tonight.

But erika, honey, you've just pointed out why I hate crit.

Dear Salon reviewer, so, what? You took the obligatory second-year "I SHALL GROW UP AND BE HEMINGWAY!" class and got straight Ds? Sing it with me: awwwwwwwwww.

No, seriously, I am not moved to tears. Wonder what this gy's actually produced in the way of "artistic merit?"

Always Anti-fascist!

My guess is he(also) wrote a mystery trying to get laid. I had an idea before I got romantically rejected, luckily. Reviews help me figure out whether I'd like stuff sometimes, but pissiness like that annoys. And he is not allowed to harsh on my imaginary boyfriend, either. Jerk.ETA: Susan, I found something in my market newsletter that might be good for you. Insent.

I don't mind reviews; I can scan the things and get a sense of the story and characters, whether they're likely to resonate. That's fine. Useful.

However, "blah blah blah berets blah blah blah tweed elbow patches blah blah artistic merit blah blah blah want to see my etchings"?

Sod that. Boring and annoying and pompous as all hell. Who died and appointed him arbiter of art?

Always Anti-fascist!

Raymond Chandler! Duh. :)(Picturing ghostly, yet still hungover RC going "Christ! What did I do last night?" Oh, yeah. Gave my reputation to a pipsqueak." Damn. Anybody have an aspirin?")

Thanks for the heads-up, erika--I'll take a look at it.

In what I think qualifies as hitting an old-school Regency writer trifecta, I've been assigned to meet Mary Balogh at the airport for our writers conference next month.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude!

(Sure, I think her quality's gone down in the last few years, and that there's been a lot of phoning-it-in, but DUUUUUUUUUUUDE! Mary Effin' Balogh!)

Susan, that is way cool.
