Not having has never been the thing I've regretted most in my life. Not trying is.

Beautiful.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

A little on the lighter side....

“Oh HELL no.”

“But it’s a team-building exercise. It will help us work together better!”

“There is no way in hell I’m climbing that ladder. Sorry.”

“Don’t you want a more effective department?”

“Not badly enough to risk my life, I don’t.”

“Aren’t you a team player?”

“I’ll ‘play’ on your ‘team,’ but that team is for WORKING. Not screwing around playing games.” “It’s Staff Development Day, and this is required.”

“It’s against my religion. My god will not allow me to turn my back on people I never chose to spend my free time with.”

“Don’t you trust us?”

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

(giggling at Jesse's)

Fixed mine.

Hee, I think I've been to that same Staff Development gig, Jesse.

I'm not entirely sure what it says about my life that my first reaction to "trust" is to think of trust games, but there you go.

That was my first reaction too, Jesse.

Hee! Raquel, Nic's clinging to 49 for another hour. What a wuss. I've been 50 for a solid year.

Well, you know, he can always claim 49. Any b-day plans?

(And while I'm here, a bit on-topic: a friend sent me an open call to write those stupid serial books that you see at the end of the sci-fi/fantasy section. The call requires that you submit the first three chapters, and then if they request, you need to be able to provide the rest of the book in 10 days. Is this usual?)
