Princess Stinkypants
There is no limit to my love for this phrase.
I usually adore writing copy; I'm one of the few people I know who can write a classic, one-page, grab-the-agent and/or grab-the-editor synopsis and not take more than ten minutes to do it.
But the musician presently playing on my creative stage isn't Ringan Laine, it's JP Kinkaid.
I'm-a send this off to Toni Plummer at Minotaur, and get back to rock and roll. Thanks to Amy, Bev and connie!
There is no limit to my love for this phrase.
Some days I change it to Princess CrankyStink.
I usually adore writing copy
I usually write five or six pieces of copy a month freelance, and most of the time it's great fun. Although the one I had to write about "Asatru, Nordic Heathenism" the other day was a little baffling. I'm definitely better with fiction, and switching voices between chick lit, historical romance, romantic comedies, and traditional Regencies is always cool--it's like trying on costumes for an afternoon.
Glad to help!
Guess what! There's gonna be a second book, a little different than the one I was picturing, but I remembered something that happened to somebody I knew once and...well, it turned out to be a good thing I'm moving slowly this AM.
I'm still not a machine like deb g though, sadly.
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! on second book!
Deb, chapter 3 finally backflung to you, with comments.
Don't get too hugely excited, internet spouse. I can't go all night like you...maybe I want literary viagra. It's only two pages of prologue.
erika, my love, if you think this current spate is typical or usual or normal for me, think again. It's just that this book seems to want out, possibly because it's also the first time I've ever put myself, any age of myself, lock stock and barrel into one of own books.
Go, erika! Two pages is nothing to sneeze at, as they say. It's a start.
maybe I want literary viagra
I demand to know who your dealer is! Because I could definitely use some of that right now. This scene I'm writing is going so slooooowly...
Don't have any.
Sorry.
I do put funk on the stereo every day...I think my muse is Superfreak, even if I do have to bring her home to mother at night.
And I know that this speed is atypical, Deb. You do write faster than I though, no matter what.ETA: But nobody wants the first one yet, except for in a 'piece of my art" type way(I shared the latest draft with Crush Guy though...if he doesn't like it, I'm gonna quit writing and raise goats, just to warn y'all. Or have a gospel phase, like so many musical legends before me.) I'm not sure I can do both at once, anyway.
Deb, it is what some of my friends call "an attack novel".
