YAY AMYLIZ!!!!
Woohoo, AmyLiz!
FWIW, a lot of books I thoroughly enjoyed got reviews in the C+ to B range at AAR--their reviews are detailed and idiosyncratic enough that the trick is to read between the lines, figure out the reviewer's taste, and decide to what degree I share it.
Squeeee AmyLiz. Bounce away. You deserve it.

Oh, btw, my essay in English Journal will be published in November, and I just got approached to write an article about the transition from middle school to high school for another (far more regional, but still) educational journal. Kind of cool!

I do that, too. And I think my reviewer gives out a lot of Cs. I also think she wanted more mystery and less romance, which I thought might be the problem with the title, but I clearly didn't get the last word on that one.
Off to actually try and finish the book that was due three weeks ago...
Kristin, that is lovely news! Is the English Journal article the one you posted in here about mailing the students' letters?
