Dave leaves tomorrow and doesn't get back to town until April 6th, so I might be able to make a day trip. I have dog class in the morning, but I could drive up in the afternoon and come back that night, possibly.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
OMG, I need one of these!
Holy crap, so do I!
ETA: I totally bought one. I am weak, but that is FUNNY.
Kristin, Nora, and Lilty all in the same place? And me, here? I HATE MY LIFE.
I also smell. Time to take a shower.
So umm...hypothetically, if I could come up to Boston on that Sunday too, could we do a little mini-F2F?
I’m with Nora. I’m in favor of this hypothetical situation.
Also, we have three windows in the front of the house, in the sitting room- there are no window treatments whatsoever, and very ugly old metal blinds which I hate so much. I want to take down the blinds and wash the wood with TSP and then put some sort of cheap windo treatment that will brighten up the room, assure us privacy, and be easy to take down and take with us when we move (which we are hoping will be within a year) and reuse there. My thought is to get a loooong, neutral/simple curtain/drapery rod and 3-4 long panels to hang over the three windows as a whole. Install the rod in the wall and then remove when we leave. I'm afraid it will be too expensive though.
Nora, you may be surprised. Check at BB&B when you’re there today. You might find something you like for cheaper than you can make it. Especially if you just want like tag panels.
I'm not a sewer, but I may be able to sew/hem/use stitch wichery to make some simple panels. Vw, where's the fabric store you go to, and what's the lower price range for fabric? I am so ignorant in the matters of sewing it is sad.
My fabric store is in Arlington, and while it is wonderful, their drapery fabric is WAY expensive. You’d probably have better luck at JoAnn’s or Hancock fabrics, as far as price is concerned. But, if you need fairly standard-sized curtains, I’d try to find them to buy. It really will end up probably being cheaper…and much easier. I ended up making mine because I wanted something very specific that was difficult to find. And I like have sewing projects…
On edit: Sorry, Nora, I missed part of your question. You can find fabric for about $9.99 if you look hard. That's what I paid for mine, and it really is lovely fabric. A lot of it is around $20 a yard, though...and that gets really spendy really fast.
Poptarts:
Nora, something like this [link] is very simple and nice, and not too expensive. They have it in other colors too.
Bah. I go to work now. But I will work on Hypothetical Sunday, and let you guys know!
Yay! People working on Hypothetical Sunday!
Nora, you could try Linens 'N Things too. Here's one that's very inexpensive: [link]
Ooooo...I love these! And they come in some really great colors: [link]
Ok...done now. No, really. Done now. I've got my curtains I'm making. I don't need any more...
Yay! People working on Hypothetical Sunday!
Hypothetically, of course.
Really gone now.
