[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

LA-istas: Is any of you near North Hollywood?

I second Betsy's question, for the exact same reason:

Black Broom 5050 Vineland Ave North Hollywood, CA 91601

is selling Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's Chaste Moon perfume tomorrow, one day only, 11AM -7PM. This is a limited edition that has been discontinued.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

But if you buy it after my visit, you do know that I'll have to visit again to see the new place, right?

Yes, Nicole! You're falling right in line with my evil plans. Mwahahaha.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Just so you know, Steph serves very nice wine.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

As an LAista, I must send my regrets to both Betsy and Jilli because I can't help you out. I'm teaching downtown all day, then zipping to SM to see my OB. And then probably passing out.

Ah Plei - did not follow the link - just saw the comment how it would be further from everywhere but closer to the ballpark. My skipping/skimming brain translate this into "close to the ballpark".

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

La la la, I have a Perkins!

Well, not in my clutches right this second (for all I know, she's busy breaking the B&B's wireless), but 2 BLOCKS AWAY!!!

I fetched her at the B&B, which is a really lovely old house in my neighborhood. The proprietress was very friendly, telling me to feel free to partake of the fresh-baked brownies and the wine in the dining room (even though I wasn't a guest), and giving us a tour of the separate cottage out back (also available for rent). So we took a tour and had some wine, and then moseyed 2 blocks back to my place, where we chatted and hung out, wondering when SA was going to show up.

Eventually we made some dinner (pizzas from Trader Joe's, salad, and [more] wine), and then realized that The O.C. was on! So we ate in front of the TV and watched The O.C. SA called, and said that she got delayed and will be up tomorrow afternoon, so the Aquarium trip is just me, Perkins, Cashmere, and Big O.

Perkins and I kept drinking wine and watching TV, just chilling out. We watched the John Stamos show, and agreed that he's aged VERY well and is really very pretty.

Ultimately, we went through 2 bottles of Chardonnay, and yet I don't feel particularly drunk. (I did overturn the tupperware container full of Oreos, but that was sheer Teppy clumsiness and not drunkenness. When I'm drunk I do WAY more than dump snack foods on the carpet.) Just hanging out and chilling with my Buffistas is an ideal way to spend an evening.

I delivered Perkins back to her B&B about half an hour ago, where I hope she isn't destroying their wireless connection. As for me, I'm drinking some water to make *sure* the wine doesn't make me feel icky tomorrow, and then I'm crawling into bed myself.

Tomorrow: Cashmere, Big O., Aquarium, and SA!

Heh. And Perkins is much more succinct than I.

People who were in SF for Nillyfest and went to the wineries: remember the wine-tasting at Charles Krug? Remember the really incredible Chardonnay? Perkins and I cracked that open tonight.

It was every bit as good as I remembered it. Yum.
