Hec, hugs to all of you but especially Emmett - that's truly sucky all the way around. When I was 8 months prengant with my oldest, I tripped on a speed bump in our parking lot and went down face first like a ton 'o bricks. Nose broken in two places, blood everywhere (all over the only shirt that actually fit and was suitable for work, natch!) ENT was terrific and plastic surgery had to wait until months later due to above mentioned baby. After all the swelling went down, it wasn't half as bad but still? OUCH!! Ouch, ouch, ouch! Freaked the hell outta my husband too.
Spike's Bitches 22: You've got Angel breath
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Oh dear God, Dawn, how awful! Are you sure you're going to be safe living on a houseboat? Please, please say it was just the pregnancy clumsiness, or I'm going to start fretting and sending you flotation devices. (Though, paradoxically, I must congratulate your DH - Best Midlife Crisis Ever. I have already pointed in the direction of Sausalito and given Hec my blessing to have the exact same MLC in a few years.)
(Or a treehouse. I could also support a let's-all-live-in-a-treehouse!MLC.)
Oh JZ it was just pregnancy-laden clumsiness, a combo of loose joints and a center of gravity being wayyy out in front. I just couldn't see my feet and couldn't stop myself from taking a header face first. Its actually a family joke now and I can laugh about it (it's been 13 years). The worst part of the whole thing was the ER nurse couldn't find the baby's heartbeat for a while, so you can imagine how I was feeling being all hormone-y and pregnant and hurt and worried that I'd done something terrible to the baby in my clutziness. Once they got one of the OB nurses down to ER and she found it right away (and gave them what for about not being able to do it).
Best Midlife Crisis Ever
Heee! It's actaully not as bad as I had imagined it would be and the marina has more amenities than we had with our house (pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, BBQ's) so it won't be bad for a couple of years (but no more than a couple!). So far, the hardest adjustment is having to bake using a microwave-sized convection oven. The kids adore having their own rooms and I gotta admit, our view is hard to beat. It's very nice to have my morning tea while watching the ocean.

I got good news today. Shhh...don't tell March.
I want to hear good news, Kristin.
I'll make a diversion over here so March doesn't hear so you're safe to spill, Kristin!
HEY MARCH, LOOK OVER HERE...
If you've spent your whole life wondering why you're here, and wtf? does that mean your midlife crisis is a period of calm certainty? Inquiring minds...
