Spike's Bitches 22: You've got Angel breath

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Right now! And it doesn't count as a sick day because you went to school.

I lean toward this as well.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My kitchen floor has cheap-ass press-on vinyl "tiles," which look surprisingly decent, and are very easy to clean. There's real tile underneath (the previous tennants did a not-so-good job of cutting the squares to fit under the sink), but it's fugly so I'll probably be sticking with the fake wood-look vinyl for the duration.

Mostly lurking...

Oooooo...a half sick day! I like the way you crazy kids think.

I think we have consensus. vw is going home. Hopefully she makes it there before more pukage.

Coding and Sleeping

Going home sounds like a good idea vw.

Our wings are not tired.

Some of the vinyl tiles are very good looking. If not an area rug of some sort I have considered good quality vinyl tiles over a cushy pad of some sort. It is either that or switching to paper plates. I drop stuff, the kids drop stuff, stuff happens.

Thrive to spite them

Connie -- I thought about you and your swords the other day. There's a new show "It takes a Theif" on the Discovery channel I think -- it's a home security improvement show. They pick a house with lax security, talk to the people, have an ex burgler break in and do what damage he can, and then get the people set up with really good security.

The house they picked had two women, and part of their "security" was keeping knives under their mattress....which the guys on the show told them was dangerous and not very effective. I wanted to know their thoughts on swords as part of personal security.

It was a pretty good show and made me realize how vulnerable I've left my self in the past.

Because books.

The house we rented in Wyoming had w2w carpet in the kitchen -- deep rusty orange with a...I don't know what to call it but fugly...pattern of octagon-type shapes in brown. Shudder.

TMI alert: Not only was I PMSing two weeks ago... it CAME BACK on Monday. Called the OB/GYN and she said if might be ovulation-related, but for three days? I'm still using tampons. And now I'm kind of worried. I'm giving it one more day and calling back. Because a 14-day cycle is just...WRONG. Like a thing that's very, very wrong.

Ugh.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I'm glad vw is going home. No one should have to try to get through a normal day while puking.

(Of course, I say this as a weird non-vomiting freak. Last time I puked was in 1997. Before that, '85 or '86.)

And I'm a good 2 weeks out of synch with what appears to be the official Bitch period.

ETA I'd call back now, AmyLiz, but I'm both paranoid and normally possessed of a very predictable body. Glad I didn't bitch about my current 24-25 day cycles, though, Too Damn Short IMNSHO though they are.

I think anything you need to lift a mattress to get to before it can protect you is not very effective security.
