Bake is what it says. Broil is where the top coils are left on all the time. You can still set the temp for lower than the broil temp, but the upper coil stays on. It's usually used when you want to brown the surface of something very quickly, but leave the inside closer to rare. Certain steaks are cooked under the broiler. Time bake is where you can set the oven to turn on at a preset time, cook for a set length of time and then turn off.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Happily, those are freaky electric oven settings of which I am blissfully ignorant; though, my guess is BAKE is the regular oven and, if you have a separate broiler, BROIL is what tells the oven to heat the broiler up rather than the main oven. TIME BAKE, though--not a clue in the world.
My sinuses are killing me today. Hec wants us all to go outside for batting practice. In, like, a stadium, on a field of grass surrounded by trees, with flowers along the fenceline. He's trying to kill me.

Okay...but I sure don't see any other dials that would allow me to do that. Stupid ancient oven. Thanks for the info, though.
And if anyone is going to kill JZ, it's going to be me. With my preciousness.
The Time Bake works in conjunction with the timer. Depending on how old your oven is, you may have touch pad controls or the timer has two needles you can set. One for the start time and the other needle would be for how long you want to cook.
No, that's what I'm saying. There is no timer. Just those two dials.
No clock on your stove?
Is there a clock, P-C?
No, there is no clock. Not even on the range.
But there is an outlet in case I decide to plug something in and prove that you can convert heat into electricity or something.
P-C, that is beyond wierd. I have no explanation for the craxiness of stove manufacturers.
Damn you, General Electric! Daaaaamn yooooouuuu!!
That's it, you're demoted to Colonel!
