It's a real burden being right so often.

Spike's Bitches 22: You've got Angel breath

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Kids attract trauma the way ita attracts kicks to the head.

You can just say "the way ita attracts trauma." I did the face first dive into the hearth thing too at about age three -- six stitches under the chin. I don't understand people without scars.

Coding and Sleeping

I've got two scars on my face. Highchair accident and swing accident.

Because books.

My favorite scar is on my chin. Huge chickenpox scab, not quite ready to come off, and while my mom is zipping my coat (I was five) her ring snags it. Nice little divot right on the bottom of my chin. Good for guilting her occasionally.

I have a huge scar from gall bladder surgery that never healed quite right because I got pregnant six months later, and my belly stretched it out. Lots of doctors have asked if I want it corrected cosmetically, but why? One, not wearing a bikini EVER AGAIN, and two, it's part of my body's history. I kind of like it.

Googling my name either comes up with a very active Buddhist in Australia or a woman who writes about Harry Potter in Christian publications. A couple of times I come up as myself on a couple of genealogical pages when I was doing more active online genealogy. I've got to get that up and running again.

My oldest sister does stuff with mortgate financing in San Francisco, so she pops up occasionally as part of coporate pages. My next older sister popped up in a bulletin about local PTA meetings back in Pennsylvania.

I suspect Mother is still hoping those darned computers just go away. I don't think she ever accepted ATMs.

Hubby has one of those! It's his oldest and most visible scar. It got infected and has always been very prominent.

My coolest scar is from SCA fighter practice, when one of our padded combat arrows caught me on a bare spot on my wrist and sliced a chunk of skin off on the edge of my armor.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

it's part of my body's history. I kind of like it.

That's how I feel, too. Most of the time. I am looking into getting the SF Halloween scar reduced at the same time I get my eye scar reduced. Those are two scars that can be a little less prominent.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh for fuck's sake:

The Senate majority leader said today Congress was inviting the severely brain-damaged woman at the heart of a heated debate to testify at an inquiry into her case.

Y'all, get your medical proxies in order. By the time they're through with this painful Terri Schiavo situation, none of us will be able to make any decisions whatsoever for our loved ones anymore.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I emailed DH the pictures. He replied:

  • broken bones heal
  • chicks dig scars
  • the US has the highest doctor to daredevil ration in the world

They're almost a badge of honor now -- no one gets it done the old-fashioned way anymore, from what I hear.

But...what does that mean?
