Sparkly white eyeshadow w/ a smidge of grey in the crease, black liquid liner, dark red lipstick. A nice princess-seam dress in black stretch velvet w/ a black tulle ball skirt underneath. Black fishnets, and nice black shoes. Mebby some black lace gloves. I would want to top it off with a black cocktail hat with a veil, but we'd have to see how it worked with the dress.

Note: I have ALL of these things in my closet, and would have no qualms about putting Teppy in them.

Pffffft. I made Lee into Wednesday Addams and she's about as Not!Goth as you are. It can be done. We have the makeup.

I have a couple of BabyGoths in my classes, and they have started to come to be for hairdyeing advice.

It's cute, but I try to encourage them, because I know all the other teachers are like "Freaky!" and so are many of the other kids.

So I try to be as "Love the hair! You did a great job with your eye makeup today!" as possible, and as vocally as possible. Since the other girls also ask me for hair and makeup advice, I hope this gives them something to think about.

The other day, one of my freshman girls came to me in a panic. "Look at this!" she wailed, and showed me her unfortunately orange highlights. "Can you help me?"

So I gave her some advice and told her that Bad Dyeing Accidents happen to everyone. She stopped whimpering, and asked "Can you come to my house and help me do it?"

Poor dear. I kept a straight face and told her I couldn't do that, but that I'd tell her what she needed to do, and that she could email me.

I never knew the circuitous routes I would have to take to get students to respect me as a teacher.

Did the agoraphobia, depression and anxiety attacks come after the other illnesses?

Amazingly, they are pretty happy.

You know, I think some people just get it. They have a joy. I don't know if it comes from not expecting things to be constantly pleasant, or extra life-force in one way or another, but they just get it, in a way I am trying to. Good for you parents.

I've seen blonde models on clothes sites.(I'm NOT EVEN looking at the links cause Too Much Money for stuff I don't wear that much. Although freaking stepmonster does kind of pay for itself.)
