Srgh, the South End, eh? Is it close to the T? Would it be easy to get to if, say, someone who worked on the Red line wanted to work before and after the appointment? Camille probably can't see me on a Saturday anyway on such short notice. Maybe I can get slip out of work tomorrow or Friday and then come back.

You have a couple of options as far as transportation...You could take the number 1 bus to Tremont street (and walk about 4 or 5 blocks) or you could take the redline to the orange line to Back Bay, then walk about 5 blocks. It's not terribly convenient, but it's not awful either. And call and see if she has a Saturday appointment. You might be surprised. I've gotten in pretty quickly there before and been really surprised.

eta: x-post. You want I should delete?

Also, I'm starting to suspect that the whole community here is in on an elaborate practical joke that involves hidden cameras and waiting for me to provide a payoff of an entertaining nervous breakdown.

I can assure you that if this is the case, I am not aware of it at all. I'm sorry things are so stressful. Would planning a bridal shower help? ;) (Nope. I haven't forgotten.)

If I'm ducking out from work, the #1 might be a good option, so I'm glad you posted that!

Hee, Cashmere!

Now all I have to do is find some cheap table cloths to cover up the filing cabinets so they look like end tables. I found some that I REALLY like at Linens and Things, but I can't spent $60 on table cloths.

And Friday night DX is coming to help me hang the Roman shades. So, by the time we leave for NY on Saturday, the room should look all beautiful!

Trust my rage

That is evil - how low do you have to be to rob girl scouts?

Thrive to spite them

I'm requesting general ~ma for a co worker. He just lost his house. He's been trying to save it and thught he was working with the mortgage company to have a close friend buy it and then rent to him. He'd been told the auction would be the last week in Feb and instead they auctioned it off in the middle of Feb. He was never informed in writing, and that's okay by Florida law. In Florida a person can be notified either in writing or by an ad placed in a paper. The "paper" they advertised in was the local classifieds circular.

His realtor contacted the people who bought the house and they thought these people were going to work on either selling the house to him or giving him an extension on moving out. On Saturday they told him he had to be out by Monday morning or they were going to send the sherriff. He's been very sick lately and I'm rather worried about him.
