[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

They have decided to wait another month before doing the surgery on my nephew. It seems the doctors are stunned at how healthy he is despite his heart defects. It seem that most baby's with his condition are very sickly. So they are going to let him gain some more weight and see how it goes.

Thanks to Jilli's link, I now need a parasol.

Best. Audition. Ever.

yay, Empress!!! Go you!!!

Aimee, I'm sorry on the bad stuff, and yay! on the good grownup stuff!

Also, I think personals sites should come with a warning. I was only going for fun, cause I know I don't have time to date and mostly don't think about it, and now all of a sudden I'm feeling lonely and old and OMG I'm going to die alone and I'm way overweight!

Which is insane, cause I'm young and totally gorgeous and I have all of you. I will still die alone, but not yet.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Wonderful news about the job, Aimee! And {{{hugs}}} for the rest of it.

I'm actually fairly calm about dad's situation, mostly because when I saw VCOB's name come up on the caller ID, I knew it had to be something about one of our parents' health, because for ordinary interaction we email each other. In the few seconds it took me to answer the phone and hear what had happened, I'd already had time to imagine the worst and start calculating how soon we could be on a plane. This is so much less frightening than I'd imagined that I'm coping quite well.

I do wish I had a better grasp on the medical issues involved, but I'm hearing the details third-hand, and VCOB is no more a doctor or any kind of medical expert than I am. So I'm really unclear on the part where his heart attack damage from 1991 could be causing clots or scar tissue or something now.

And I get the impression my mother is fixated on the cancer possibility, though from the way VCOB described it, there's at most a 20% chance that's it.

If it turns out to be the standard blood-clot induced TIAs, they'll probably put him on coumadin (sp?), even though he's already on a daily aspirin plus another prescription blood thinner.
