Spike's Bitches 22: You've got Angel breath
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Happy birthday, birthday people!
Hee! Hi, billytea. I'd COMM that, but I think I'm COMMing too much, lately.
What sort of excuse is that?? "No thanks, I'm trying to give them up"? Feh. Feh, I say! Get thee to a COMMery!
Wow, I really didn't know that, bt. (Is it shallow that it's less cool because vultures aren't so beautiful?)
Vultures are gorgeous creatures. So fascinating. New World vultures have one of the keenest senses of smell in the world, while Old World vultures can't smell at all. Their stomach acids are strong enough to kill anthrax. One species uses tools to break into ostrich eggs. Another cracks heavy bones on rocks to get at the marrow. And then there's the black vulture, which is not only one of the few truly monogamous creatures, but if any of them actually does try anything on, the others all start beating on it until it gets the message. Swans, honestly, just don't have the personality of a good vulture.
Um. There may be an answer in there. It's probably one of those 'Magic Eye' deals.
Ah, billytea has read "Monstrous Regiment"!
'Tis true! And penguins were mentioned. How can I resist?
Poor Cashmere. (and poor Owen.)
And birthday happies for all.
I'm still a PC person over Macs, but I suspect that's because all the Macs I've ever used have been workplace iMacs that froze up or lost their connection to the server twice a day, and I'm told that Apple computers are much nicer if they are treated with love and respect.
Which doesn't help me when my computer freezes and needs to be restarted for the third time and I lose an hour's worth of work and have to bug the IT guys sio I can get into the file I was using. But it's nice to know.
Happy belated b-day, -t!
Happy birthday Kristin and Maria!
Happy Belated Birthday, -t!!!
Happy Birthday, Kristin and Maria!!!
It is sad when my body thinks that 8:30am is sleeping in.
{{{Cashmere}}} I hope you got a little more sleep.
Happy Birthday, -t, Kristin and Maria! May it be a great year.
Poor Cashmere. Poor Owen.
I've already walked six miles. Now I'm thinking about going back to bed.
I ended up curled up with a quilt in the recliner by the crib. O threw up at 2, 4 and 5. The last two times I managed to pick him up and catch most of it with a cloth diaper. He hardly woke up. Then I rocked him back to sleep. He was up for good at 6 and took some water with a splash of juice.
I then woke DH to spell me and I got two hours of sleep. I managed to get some applesauce into Owen and he seems to be keeping it down. *crosses fingers*
Birthday Happies to -t, Maria and Kristin!!!
Nora, what kind of cell phone did you get? You're Cingular, right? I still haven't gotten around to getting a new one. I'm trying to decide to stay with a Nokia or to try one of the Motorola flip phones.
I would like to request motivation-ma for today and the rest of next week. The house goes on the market Feb 22, and there is still a
lot
to do. Not to mention the fact that I still need to find a job in St. Louis.
I have a new Motorola flippy phone. We are still getting acquainted.
~ma for Anne
ETA- yes, I'm now on Cingular. I used to be AT&T, but because of the merger, with the new phone, I get a new plan and I'm "officially" Cinglar now.
Happy Birthday -t, Maria and Kristin!
Much Saturday motivation-ma to Anne!
I had skipped and skimmed too much and mis-understood the sort of "market" Anne was referring to.
Cashmere, my doctors have been really strict about not feeding too soon after vomiting. Don't be afraid to stick to clear fluids, and just little bits at a time. If they throw up, they lose more than they got (from either food or drinks). Pedialyte, crushed ice, room temperature ginger ale are all good. If he keeps the drinks in (teensy bits, every half hour is enough), Jello is good, too. White grape juice is supposedly the mildest juice when he's ready, but there's no rush. You just keep an eye out, to make sure he's staying hydrated.
Toast (no butter--dry or with a smidge of jam) and saltines are also your friends.
