I can't help laughing when I pull out the your-crazy-is-better-than-my-crazy schtick.
I fear I too have had some secret envy for the people who lose weight when they're depressed. I read atheory that for some people it takes energy for them to eat and for others it takes energy for them to not eat. Hit with depression, the first group loses weight and the second gains. I am in the gaining category.
I went to a counselor this morning. She seems okay, but this morning was mainly a "who are you and why are you here" session.
I can't do red. I'm too pink. That's why I'm toying with the idea of brown.
A gorgeous golden brown would look awesome.

I introduced my manager to the joy of badgers this morning. She laughed.
I do understand the envy since weight gain does nothing to help with depression. Seriously, though, it's not all good. Forgetting to eat leads to all kinds of other health problems.
In unrelated news, I have a hivemind question. For the last month or so, the top of my left foot has been hurting an unbelievable amount every time I wear heels, especially the next morning when I wake up. It's gotten so bad recently that I've temporarily resorted to wearing flats the past couple of days, but I'm praying it isn't permenant since I live in heeled shoes. I love them, for one, and I'm barely 5'1", for two. I need all the height I can get. Not to mention that if I am banned form heels, I will need an entirely new shoe wardrobe since I think I have about three pairs of non-heeled footwear.
Has anyone else had the top of the foot pain? Should I be worried about a strain or a stress fracture or something? Should I be getting it x-rayed?
Kristin, you might have a stress fracture in the bones that run down the top of the foot and connect to the toes. (I guess these are toe-phalanges?)
I'm only saying that after wiggling my foot around, trying to pretend that I had heels on, and then realizing that I do, in fact, have heels on.
Steph, there are probably some reds you could pull off with no problem. I've seen good strawberry blondes on pink people. It's all a matter of degree.
But brown would look nice, too.
I'm cracking up at all the depression weight loss envy confessions coming from my side of the depression fence. (That'd be the gains it side.)
It's funny cuz it's TRUE.
I'm thinking about getting a hair chop next weekend too - after the 15th for me as well.
I'm thinking that, on me, an angled bob would look kind of like the left picture here: [link]
Though my face isn't shaped like that, so I might look like a potatohead with a wig.

Sigh. Yeah, that's what I'm kind of worried about. I just called my doctor, and I think she's going to have me go get an x-ray, just in case.
If I have to wear a friggin' foot cast when I go to California, I am going to hurt someone.
Have I mentioned that I really hate March? Bad luck, ahoy.
