Spike's Bitches 22: You've got Angel breath

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I am not goth and I don't hate spring fashion as a rule but what's in stores now is HIDEOUS to me. I was just in Banana Rep. at lunch trying to exchange something and there wasn't a single thing there I even wanted to try on. I want the deep reds of Baby Gap's winter line! waaahhhh!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have a $50 Banana Republic card to redeem. I've tried twice, but due to both the spring line and the long wait for the changing room -- no dice.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I remember one spring where bright tropical colors were in, and I was very happy. The current frilly pastel thing, though, needs to DIE DIE DIE.

Up with the sun

On a mememe note --

I am conflicted on what to do tonight. On the one hand, I would kind of love to stay home, watch The O.C. and play Sims. And that's it.

On the other, Patrick's band is part of a battle of the bands tonight, and I should really go and support him.

But I just saw them Monday, and their set's not until 11, and I'm not sure how much good my moral support would actually do. Plus, he says it's up to me, which probably genuinely does mean that he doesn't care,

Thoughts?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Assuming the answer is not "like Easter exploded in there," what does PTB's room look like, Plei? I remember you were having a hard time finding space for the crib -- how did that work out?

Her room still looks like an office. We're not moving everything out until after she's here. The walls are deep rose, the hardware is copper, and the floor is (at the moment) crappy softwood with acute damage. (It will probably be bamboo after we've moved the computers out of there.)

We'll be using something other than a crib until we've got the room done.

Newsflash! Goths Hate Spring Fashion Lines!

Newsflash. If you've seen this year's Spring Fashion Lines, you'd realize that ALL right-thinking people hate this year's selections. It's a selection of Best of the Worst of Color Me Beautiful's Spring Palette. Most people will not look good in the corals, teals, and lime greens that are this year's must-haves. (I can wear the lime. But I prefer a slightly yellower lime to the almost-neon I see in stores.)

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

The current frilly pastel thing, though, needs to DIE DIE DIE.

You would think this trend would mean that I would be able to find a frilly, high-collared, faux-Victorian blouse in pale pink lace. But nooooo, they don't exist. Most vexing.

Not that I have an SO but I'd hate to think somebody was coming to see my band when they didn't really want to be there. I'd worry about them having a bad time and that would negate the moral support I'd get from having them there.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Newsflash! Goths Hate Spring Fashion Lines!

Shocking, innit? Although as Jesse notes, the popularity of citrus last year was not as tooth-grindingly annoying as whatever there is in stores this year.

edit: or What Plei Said.

I flipped through this month's In Style and realized that there is nothing in their Current Trends section that I would wear.

Not a goth, but damn if I didn't hate the citrus too. What are called tropical colours here are not colours I'm actually used to from the tropics.

It's like they put shots of ugly juice in the fabric dyes!
