You do well to flee, townspeople! I will pillage your lands and dwellings! I will burn your crops and make merry sport with your more attractive daughters! Ha ha ha! Mark my words! Ooh! Ale! I smell delicious ale!

Spike's Bitches 22: You've got Angel breath

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Okay, Penny Arcade cracked me up today. But you have to read yesterday's first, as it's a two-parter. Then the hilarious conclusion.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The forcing bulbs sj got me for Christmas have started to bloom. They're lovely and make it feel like spring in my bedroom

Yay! I am glad they are making you happy. Insent.

What is even happening?

Connie, that was beautiful. I thought I'd opened Great Write, by accident.

Beej, that's ugly. I thought I'd fallen back to sleep and had a nightmare.

Quentin Tarantino has signed to direct the season-finale episode of primetime's most-watched series, CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."

Pity I don't like his stuff.

Someone please tell my mother that I have no intention of moving back home and living with her again. In a nice way.

I thought I'd been pretty clear about the whole "take a job for a year in Ann Arbor, and then move on from there," but she's all, "Come back to Dallas now, you'll be done in May, why wouldn't you want to uproot yourself from a place you've only been two years anyway a mere five months after making a major life-changing decision, it's not like you crave stability or anything. Come on, don't you love moving?!"

And she is still very, very hung up on the notion that I'll actually come back and get a Ph.D.

No way, baby. You want to be the grown up? Then you have to be the grown up.

Mom, I appreciate that, but I really like it here, and my university connections will come in handy, in establishing myself. Don't worry. We'll visit often.

Ooh, university connections! Good one. Thanks.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Huh. P-C's post made me realize I still haven't told my parents I'm moving to Palo Alto.

I should do that soon.

Polter, I suspect Mom's may have found the perfect girl for you, except she's in Texas, not Michigan.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

PC, my advice is to let her be hung up and do what you want. You won't change her desires and you don't have to, you just don't have to fulfill them. I think my mom still secretly beleives we'll all come back and live near her, although we're all in our 40s now and it will NEVER HAPPEN.
