I kissed him, and I told him that I loved him. And I killed him.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Dumb question: I paid for some work on my house well over a year ago. The check has still not been cashed. I'm assuming that means that it cannot be cashed at this point, correct?

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

That's another one down.

Timelies, all. And connie, what a great sentiment, both your narration of the evening and the morning. You're making me miss being in the mountains.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LYSANA!!

vw, i'm looking forward to reading your paper.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Morning all.

Happiest of Happies to those I've missed lately - Jon and Laura and Beverly!!

Happiest of Happies to Lysana!!

I have eaten my breakfast (2 egg whites scrambled, lowfat yogurt, and a piece of wholegrain toast) and baby is sleeping. The "schedule" we have her on for school seems to be working. Today we'll be visiting Daddy's work and dropping off the physicians report at Dr Frend's office. I can't believe I only have FIVE days left at home! Trying not to pout too much.

What is even happening?

Anne, check with your bank.

Aimee! Emma's going to school! Let me tell you, my nieces who went to school while I was home with Ben, learned so much, so very fast. I don't think there's one true way to do this, except the way you and Joe are, with an overflow of love.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm assuming that means that it cannot be cashed at this point, correct?

There is a ltime limit on check cashing, but I don't remember what it is. I think over a year is beyond it, but I'm not positive - there are checks that say "Void if not cashed in x days" and there is the absolute legal limit, which is longer.

Anne, do you have any idea why it wasn't cashed? I just wonder, because when you're selling your house, the lawyer for your buyer will do a title search to ensure there are no liens on your house. Contractors can and will put liens on a house, for unpaid bills. Is there any chance that the person who did the work didn't get the check (i.e. did you mail it)? I would think you would have heard something, but still...

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

Happy birthday, Lysana.

The bosses are out of town on a meeting and I can finally get some work done without being hounded or criticized.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I wouldn't count on it, even if your bank tells you no. IME, banks are a lot less rigorous about following their own rules than you might desire. I'd check with the recipient first, and cancel the check if you can't find anything out.
