I didn't know anyone of my generation played bridge!
I play! Or, at least, I did play, six years ago. I'm not sure I totally remember how anymore. (My AP Calculus teacher taught us how to play in the month or so of classes that we had after the AP exam.)
Big!Boss and Wife had been on vacation for the past month (in Arizona),
Dude. A MONTH of vacation? I"m jealous.
I know, right? But in the 10 years I've been there, they've never taken more than a week off at a time, and sometimes not even that. And bear in mind they're both past retirement age, and I'd say they deserve some enforced R&R. (I'm aware you weren't disagreeing with that idea; I'm just furthering the conversation.)
That's especially sucky that it seems to be turning out so badly. Have you heard any more about how he's doing?
Have you heard any more about how he's doing?
No, but his daughter (who also works for the company) flew out to St. Louis, where he's in the hospital, over the weekend. She'll be back tomorrow, so I'm hoping for better news then.
This is totally true, Steph--I seriously hope that by the time I'm their age, I'm retired, and if not, I'm able to take a month off!!
I just know I'd be superjealous if my boss took a month off. :)
Left work at the usual time, a bit before 7 PM. Looked to the west. What to my wondering eye should appear, through the broken clouds, but the horizon. A distinct line of mountains against a dark pink sky. It's almost bright enough for the street lamps to turn off in the mornings, and now the light's creeping back in the evening.
That's another one down.
Happy birthday Laura.
I am afraid that if I had kids - I might look like a prarie muffin. or I might look like a real slob . not sure. but I wear more and more skirts...( no not at the same time)
Sadly I was disapointed by that site - I thought I was clicking on a pirate Muffin site...
My brain swerves, I think.
I have a long and honorable history of proving how badly one can hurt oneself unaided by anything except gravity. I blame it on gravity waves. Someday science will back me up.
I meant to say earlier that I played bridge in college, but haven't played since. The guy I dated in college and his roommate were bridge fiends. My boyfriend was absolute hell as a partner, but his roommate was an easygoing guy who was just entertained to see how an outrageous bid played out. I would partner with him and we'd grab passers-by to be my bf's victim.
We played sheepshead in high school and euchre in university. I never did learn bridge.
