That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I like them and I don't care for them like I should and they last.

Are you some magic, bra-lady? The LB bras I get seem to fall apart really fast. And, they fall apart in painful ways. I don't know how many times I've been impaled by a wire that goes wonky.

But I had no idea they do bra alterations!!! That is so rad! Maybe only in some stores though? I feel like the bra salesladies would have already told me about.

Well, I spent over an hour trying on 22 different bras a couple of Saturdays ago, and the very helpful saleslady said "Those two bras will be perfect once we have the alterations lady put a couple of darts in them." I looked at her goggle-eyed and said "Put a couple of darts in them?!"

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Susan just reminded me that I want to buy some new bras. I think I'm just going to go for a couple decent nursing bras.

Susan, you might not ever get down to your pre-Annabel breast size. The rib cage expansion can stick just enough to keep them a size above.

Ah yes. And on the other hand, some women's breasts get *smaller*.

My ribcage seems to be a bit bigger now. I used to buy 34Bs and the occasional 32C. Now I seem to fit into 34Ds and 36Cs while I am pregnant but not nursing. I figure that means a D-cup for the nursing bras and a who-the-hell-can-guess for the future.

Punishingly Intricate

I do this on a fairly regular basis at two different Nordstroms and they've never mentioned alteration as an option. I shall have to inquire!

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Depends. Do you live someplace warm? Are there nice people? Will you keep her in better than the style to which she is accustomed? Are there babies? I gotta look out for the v-ster.

DC suburbs. Warmer than New England. I'm nice, DF is nice, and we have a heavenly host of Buffistae. We're getting a nice, big house next year right after the wedding, and I can promise her trips to Italy and France. No babies yet, but they shall come. That's why we're getting the big house.

Do I pass?

Ginger, I wasn't in the car when it happened. I was walking back to it after leaving the store, and I watched this completely clueless 17 year-old girl do the bump and grind to our cars. She was trying to park between my SUV and a full-size van, when on the other side of the van, there were five consecutively empty spaces. She had no idea what to do in this situation; I had to talk her through everything. Insurance card? What insurance card? Oy. Vey.

They really need to administer a common sense test along with the driver's exam. It might cut down on the number of homicides by insurance-card paper cut.

Which Nordstrom's was it, Jilli? Downtown?

Which Nordstrom's was it, Jilli? Downtown?

Yuppers.

It was two weeks before V-Day, so every display in the store was done in this over-the-top, wacky Victorian style, in pink & black. My friend Alexia turned to me and said "Look! They're marketing directly to you, isn't that sweet of them?"

Do I pass?

No, I think you'd be much better off with an Emily, actually.

What is even happening?

Sometimes, you just don't feel like stacking cats. Fortunately, during those sad times, the internets are still there for you, and you can throw rocks at boys. It's a classic for a reason.
