Well, I'll have to have one card hidden away in case my car dies or something, but in the event of use (which should be never) it will be paid off every month.
It's silly, really, because it's not like the money I owe has magically flown away. It just feels more workable now.
Ok, Salon.com's commercial for site access today is some sex manual "Sextasy." Um, thanks, but as person with
a job
I guess I'll be passing on Salon today.
So, someone just passed me a link to search and see if the vanity plate you want is available, and out of curiosity, I looked up my old one. Someone took my Snoogans plate!
Not that I want it back or anything. But it was my first car. Poor, poor Snoogans.
Congrats, Lilty!
(Did you see my post in Natter yesterday re: closing credit card accounts? I don't want you to be penalized for doing what's best for you.)
Oh dear, I didn't. (I was Skipper McSkipperton yesterday.) I did figure that maybe my credit might take a slight hit in some way from all of this, but I don't see myself needing excellent credit for anything big in the immediate future, so it's worth a bit of not-greatness now so it will be better when it counts.
Someone on dailykos just linked to the following Newsweek article about parenting in an age of anxiety:

Interesting stuff.
Gud, I like
Mere.
Are you reading the actual Bible at all, though? If not, try
Luke.
Slacker mom article also on MSNBC: [link]
Thanks, MFN! I hadn't thought of keeping long-standing accounts open. The rates are all too astronomical to feel good about using, even as emergency "Winifred the Echo is sick" cards, but maybe it's worth not closing them all, at least right away. I'll throw them in the freezer until it's decision making time.
