Chiming in on the crappy day front, although for me it's just a cold and a headache. Somehow headaches don't feel like a "just" when I'm having one.
Megan, I hope the beer helps.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I went to my physical therapist, who pointed out that I'm walking around all slanted with my left shoulder up.
We did more exercises. Then she did my shoulder with the zappy electric thing: tape on electrodes, put an ice bag, walk away and leave me to twitch for 15 minutes. Anybody know what the zappy twitchy thing is? She calls it "ice and stim", if that helps.
I'm in that stage where I know what I want to do with the next 5-10 years of my life, but I'm not entirely sure how to get there from here. Very distracting.
We're having an early spring on account of unseasonable warmth. This means things are blooming, pollen counts are up, and my already stuffed and irritated sinuses are even more stuffed an irritated. Joy.

Electrical stimulation therapy is the process. I've never thought of the machine as anything other than a stimulator.

My mom had it done (several times) after her car accident, but I forget what it's called.

Sounds like she was using an EMS unit.

A TENS machine?
No, not TENS; I asked. "Electrical stimulation therapy" worked in a Google; I couldn't find the thing before, and now I can. Thanks, all.
Betsy, was the stimulation for pain relief, or for muscle work?
The former would call for TENS, the latter for EMS.
