You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Should have known the Buffistas would be all over the Hunter S Thompson news. Very sad.

Also? One of my two employers is not paying me in a timely manner, and consequently, I don't know that I have enough gas to keep getting back and forth to my other job.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Hey, that reminds me-- I registered for the Lost Party

I see you on the confirmed list, I think you should have gotten an email. Lemme check.

What is even happening?

Lee, do you have to sell where you live now, or will this just entail apartment hunting for you?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm renting right now, Cindy, so it's not a matter of selling. I'm pretty sure I'm going to take a hit on the rent, since my lease isn't up until July, but hopefully it won't be too bad.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

When's the move happening?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Congratulations, Lee!

Librarian Warlord

I'm at work, but most of what I've done so far is to accept a job offer in Palo Alto.

Yipee! I helped steal Lee away from SoCal!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I'm listening to MLK on NPR, his last speech and it's making me cry. I was expecting a program on Ayn Rand, and to be able to get my anger on, but no. Instead of selfishness and cold disconnection from fellow humans, I get unwavering strength and faith and belief in a better world on earth.

Need tissue.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Lee, I meant to say this earlier, but congratulations!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Congrats, Lee.

There was a very weird atmospheric thingie at 6:30 am today, just as the leading edge of a thunderstorm cell passed by. We were getting strong reflected golden light from above rather than direct sunbeams from the east, resulting in me at first thinking the landlord had installed a mercury vapor security light above my kitchen window during the wee hours. Then I noticed it was shining in every window on all sides of the building, and wondered if I'd be getting the day off work after all due to the Rapture.
