Ann, that's a ferret.

Holiday here. And no snow, just rain.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

How many Buffistas are working today?

31.4

Determining who the .4 is is left as a exercise for the reader.

Up with the sun

I'm working. And sad about Hunter S. Thompson. Somehow it wasn't in the paper this morning and I didn't hear anything on NPR, but it when I walked into work.

would you think they meant, that they were asking for an extra day, so that the new deadline was Friday or maybe the weekend, or for a whole extra week?

I would think they wanted a whole extra week, but I'd email them to be sure.

But she is riding a public wave created out of sheer nothingness. I don't wish any misfortune upon her. It's a messy hollow empty thing that comes with backlash already installed.

What ita said. She bugs me because, apparently, she's famous because she's young, skinny and rich and has nothing better to do than go to clubs and act like a ditz on TV. I don't actively wish her harm, but neither do I feel terribly bad when harm comes to her. It would be like feeling bad when Wile E. Coyote falls off a cliff.

Edit: I do feel bad for the people in her address book. No one deserves to have their private phone number spread all over the Internet.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Happy Birthday, Katie!

Happy Belated Birthday, Jon!

Posting from work here. Even if I had the option, I don't think I'd make a celebratory holiday out of Presidents' Day this year. Maybe if we had Impeachment Day...

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Happy Birthday Katie!

No work today, and no snow or rain, either.

Well, I called and left some instructions for work, but I don't think that puts me at a .4. Maybe a .125.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I might be a .4 or so. I'm at work, but there's nothing for me to do. (Not quite nothing, there's filing! Woo-hoo!)

I just went to Burger King. I am now earwormed with the Billy Joel song "Tell Her About It" that was playing on the radio.

Time to hook the iPod to my computer speakers....

eta: Now playing: Barrett's "Octopus". Much better....

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Grocery store run accomplished with minimal skidding. And I grabbed the empty, unclaimed parking space in front of my house. And the neighbor ran his snowblower up and down my sidewalk.

The snow is still coming down, but I am now self-sufficient enough that I'm not gonna care.
