"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Dana asked that somebody post the URL to the LJ community for shrift's birthday, since Dana's locked out of b.org at work. People are writing shrift fic as pressies. Pony up if you want to play.

For "Dana", substitute "Suela."

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oops. Busted for skimmage. Thanks for the correction.

And still? I'm amazed at making the new thread by the first 75.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Just a quick survey: Who here eats the crust?

Our dogs usually get the crusts. But we usually use a local place that is all-the-way-to-the-edge pizza. We only get crust when we eat Papa John's.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

boss's dog has learned the sound of an unwrapping quiznos. She is now resting her head on my lap while she drools and looks at me with her sad puppy eyes...

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'm in the "if the crust isn't worth eating, the pizza isn't worth eating" camp. If the only choice is Papa John's, the dogs get the part with the inedible overly-sweet sauce on it, and I keep the crusts and garlic sauce for myself.

Any WSJ subscribers? Could you send me this story?

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

i'm just posting because i'm rarely here when the threads turn over and i want to be under 100!

am i the only one who gets confused when i read fic about a fandom that is currently on the air? i have a hard time remembering that it was a fic and not shown on the screen. if it's really good fic anyway.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

Hmm. I didn't think that I was the only one with Winn Dixie knowledge, so the knowledge I have probably isn't true. But it is my understanding that Winn Dixie is all over the south-- I know for a fact that it is in Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida-- and that it was the black grocery store, back when black people weren't allowed to go to the nicer white grocery stores. And that is why to this day Winn Dixie tends to be the less nice grocery store in any area, because it is still the more inexpensive/less well kept one.

Pizza: I love Ray Bari. And California Pizza Kitchen. And Pizza Hut. And Papa John's. Although I have had less than stellar pizza at all of those places at one time or another. I hate Domino's. They suck, and are icky. I do like BBQ chicken pizza, and Rosemary Chicken Potato Pizza. And every now and then, when my brother insists on meaty pizza, I don't have any problem with pepperoni and ground beef pizza, other than the grease factor. And at some local places in NY, chicken and broccoli pizza is good. Gino's pizza is yummy, too, but only if you eat it there. It's no good if you take it home. But, really, my favorite kind of pizza is plain yummy cheese pizza. So good.

That's the best kind of fic.

Of course, badly written episodes sometimes resemble badly written fic, too.

If I only had a brain...

The hierarchy in Charlotte was

  • Harris Teeter
  • Winn-Dixie
  • Food Lion

I think Food Lion won a gold star because it was featured in an expose -- employees were re-dating expired meat.
