Natter 32 Flavors and Then Some
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I always liked algebra the best, because of the way the left side of the = always ended up the same as the right. I think that's why I liked my introduction to accounting classes, too.
Geometry, OTOH, sucked ass, as did trig. I hate graphs with a passion.
Basic 2x = y algebra is so freaking useful, too, isn't it? I had a great geometry teacher in high school, who my mother ran into recently, and they were talking about the fact that I'm the age now she was then. Oy.
Hmm. Theme of the hour seems to be "Hey! Time flies. WTF?"
According to the Westminster KC's website, in 1974 Ch. Gretchenhof Columbia River went BIS. So, Ch. Kan-Point's VJK Autumn Roses or Carlee is the 2nd.
(Also, I hadn't realized that the first time that they awarded BIS was in 1907, even though the first show was in 1877. Previous to this the Westminster KC helped set up the benched show in Philadelphia that was held as part of the Centennial celebration.)
Geometry and trig were the only types of math I ever had a problem with. I was lucky in my college classes--the prof was the head of the department, and one of the best teachers for those of us who had no intention of becoming math majors. We just wanted to get our two math classes out of the way and move on to our humanities majors courses. But, she took the time when explaining a concept to make sure that everyone in the 80-person class got it. If you had a confused expression on your face (a frequent one for me!), she would pause in the middle of the lecture and work it through for you.
I remember doing proofs in hs, and having the teacher make fun of me when I took 24 steps to get to the same point everyone else reached in five. I never said I was logical, did I?
Okay I need to send out my Tuesday Reminder. Logan on GG's belongs to me. Vernoica Mar's Logan is all for the rest of you. But GG Logan = all mine. He may be replacing The Seth in my affections.
It was awesome, not the least of which was the ambiguity of
Luke's stance. He said something about if he had to respond at the point she was pestering he'd say 'Not Worth It,' which of course wasn't necessarily what he actually wanted.
So, during the last scene
I kept waiting for him to say that he wasn't breaking up with her
and it never came.
AND, Logan? LOVE! CUTE! Even if he is wee.
Both the guys on GG tonight were well and hot, and no one acted like a moron. It was wonderful.
But really -- all your Logan are belong to me.
I think the problem with typical textbook word problems is that they aren't real-world ENOUGH. The ones in my stats text book were just right -- because it was a book for social science students, the illustrations were numbers I'd really be looking at in real life, not trains passing in Iowa or whatever.
That's what I loved about stats.
and no one acted like a moron.
Weeeelllll, no one except
Lorelei. Her total meltdown was worthy of a five year old.
Get a grip, woman.
No, honey, nice try. Logan Huntzberger belongs to me!
GC, I thought her
meltdown was
no more insane or moronic that people I've known and kept respecting. In fact, less than some. I was sympathetic, while praying that I'd never act that way.
