Sara, I have panic attacks at the idea of diving, too. It's because of the time I was diving, and did it wrong, and whacked my face on the water hard enough to get a nasty nose bleed, and then I couldn't see, and find the wall to get out because of all the blood in the water. And I didn't dive again immediately, so I have had unreasoning panic every time I try again, after the fact, even though logically I know it is stupid, and that diving is fun. But panic isn't particularly responsive to logic. Even when someone is standing beside you, yelling at you to just do it, and offerring to push you.

I got a haitcut today! It's not a good haircut and it took about 10 minutes to do it. AND, my bangs are still not grown out, but it still made me happy.

Ali, the instructor had me in standing dive position and then knocked my feet out. Without warning. No blood, no muss. I was fine with it until then. The brain, she is instinctive.
And the instructor should die bloody, I think.
