Dear people I send reumes to:
I know it is not required, but acknowledging receipt of said email would be nice.
Thanks - me.
I resolve that should I get a position that involves the intake of resumes, I will try to implement a system of acknowledging receipt of all resumes within a week.
Speaking of Fox News, you gotta love this job title:
FOX News Channel, a fast-paced 24-hour television news operation in New York City, is seeking a Fact Writer for its information center.
Responsibilities include writing on-air facts and press conference quotes for daytime programming.
(If it asks for a login, use "buffistas@hotmail.com / superfoamy")
that's what that whole "princess consort" thing is about, isn't it?
No, not really. If she doesn't take on titles of sufficient royalty, he would lose his own standing as HRH. Which is why Princess Margaret nagged Anthony Armstrong-Jones into accepting a lordship before they married so she could stay a princess and their children would be royal.
msbelle, if it's any consolation (probably not) of the 200 or more resumes I sent off in my last job hunt, I got maybe 5 or so acknowledgements of receipt.
yeah, I know. In my first job search out of college, I kept a hardcopy file of everything. In the end, I had sent out over 1000 resumes and heard back from maybe 15-20.
In this case, one of the resumes was sent to a personal contact and not an HR person, so I had expected an email back saying, "got it". anyway, I'll wait a full week before following up.
ION, BK for lunch.
Hokey doke. I stand corrected. Thanks, ita.
Lesbian kisses are the new weddings and/or fires:
"You either have a wedding or you burn down something," Mr. Marshall said. "That's what you do during sweeps week."
Or that's what you used to do, back when "Happy Days" was big. Weddings and fires might provide transfusions of plot for lifeless shows, and they even fit two of four requirements for a good sweeps stunt. But that's nothing compared with the lesbian kiss, which hits all four.
Gah. My coffee seems to be time delayed this morning. I am already going to be late for work, and now I am wondering if I should just go back to sleep and be more late.
That NYT lesbian kiss story has the wrong picture for the Willow/Tara caption. I guess one lesbian kiss is as good as any other.
t eta
But I love the story for this line:
And lesbianism on both shows often appears to be a displaced consummation of the intimate, complex relationships between the central male characters: Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan (James Lafferty) on "One Tree Hill," and Seth (Adam Brody) and Ryan (Benjamin McKenzie) on "The O.C."
HoYAY!
