And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I wonder if Jess is around. I'd love to see some pictures of her new haircut.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

They would, Ali, but nothing about the pretty which is the hard part.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

shrift, let's switch jobs for a week or so. I'll answer your phone and emails with "I am sorry, she's not available, I'd be happy to take a message or transfer you to someone else - the Dr. said she should be back after a week or two of bedrest." and you can do the same for me.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Huh. Designer has informed me that she doesn't have the font I need, sorry!

Because that would be silly! It's like the Handbook People who would like me to include a very complex Excel spreadsheet in the handbook, but didn't think they actually had an electronic copy of it.

I just got a call from an account exec in Chicago, and she's going to have a bunch of people in New York give me a ring because apparently none of them know how to open Photoshop files!

You planning to suggest they try double-clicking?

Homicidal rage just shot back up into stratosphere.

Have more bacon!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I thought we were talking about identical twins born two months apart, but I could've missed something in the skim.

Identical doesn't seem possible since they weren't in the same uterus. But then I've never had a reason to find out when/where the egg split happens for idents, so I guess I could be wrong.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

If they were conceived separately, from ovulation in different months, I'd say they were brothers -- very, very close in age brothers -- rather than twins. if they were conceived at ther same time and the eggs just split up that way, I'd say still twins

Only, the first case just shouldn't happen -- ovulation stops when you're pregnant, unless something is really weird. (I'm not saying something isn't in this case -- I mean, beyond the whole two uteri thing -- but the article doesn't go into a whole lot of detail.) I'd assumed twins also based on their birthweights -- the first was 3 lbs something, and the second normal weight, which seems about right for one being born prematurely.

Huh. Interesting stuff, either way. But my gut feeling is still going back to "the poor woman carried them both".

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

I agree, ita. Of course, it did sound as though he got tons of offers, and so was picky. Which would probably cover the pretty thing. Also, didn't he say that he had a comparative literature degree from Brown? Because if so, is that all you can do with a liberal arts degree ?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'd assumed twins also based on their birthweights -- the first was 3 lbs something, and the second normal weight, which seems about right for one being born prematurely.

That was my thought.

IIRC, ovulation has in rare cases continued during pregnancy, but the one-as-early, one-on-time thing seems more likely.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I guess we need pictures. How many fallopian tubes and ovaries did she have? I'm envisioning two completely separate structures, but it could be that somehow she just has two ovaries that pipe into two wombs.

Then they share a cervix? This is very confusing.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

and you can do the same for me.

This is a good plan. If I could do anything ot make either of your days less irritating, I would.

Instead, I'm sitting at home, doing Spanish homework and waiting for Starting Over to begin.
