Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

How do you say "tsk," Jesse? Because I've never seen that noise transliterated, nor heard "tsk" pronounced TSK. Seems quite plausible.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think I'm with Cindy -- there's "tisk, tisk" and then there's the teeth-suck sound she described above.

Our wings are not tired

Hey folks. I was going to try to catch up, but I've been buried in a couple of shows so I ended up skipping close to 2000 messages in here. What's up?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Allyson or Kristen, What is the cut off date for signing up for the Lost party?

hip deep in pie

What's up?

Cats are being stacked, there's some alternative Super Bowl programming involving puppies, people have different ringtones, some people work with computers without a CS degree, and words get pronounced differently in different places.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

So what you are saying is things haven't changed much.

Natter is pretty much an unstoppable force at this point.

Does that make Bitches the immovable object?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Huh. Now that you mention it, I don't think I've ever verbalized what I think "tsk" sounds like, though I think it's probably different from what you expressed.

Also, whales are cool. If they exist.

Also, I don't have a CS degree. I don't have a degree at all, but if I'd finished mine, it wouldn't have been CS. And I programmed all my life, for fun, so dunno about that gender disparity thing. Guess I'm an anomaly. Again.

But then also, my first paying programming gig was an RPG, and I was getting paid for my writing skills. There, and at my meatspace job, I learned to code by reading other people's code.

And I still think I suck. I like to do it, I just don't think I produce particularly elegant results. And furthermore, I totally don't believe that I can code, so either there's your gender issues right there, or possibly, I just suck. Which is a totally different kind of gender issue.

The SO's path was pretty much tommyrot's. Mine was similar, but started with AS/400's query functions, instead. No one taught me SQL, I just got sick of not getting the info I wanted and noticed they hadn't blocked my commandline access. Yeah, I'm that problem user.

Code is creative for me. Or was. When I was doing it. And sucking.

Now, instead, I'm creative with instruments. And suck at it. Still having fun, though.
