Most people is pretty quiet right about now. Me, I see a stiff -- one I didn't have to kill myself -- I just get, the urge to, you know, do stuff. Like work out, run around, maybe get some trim if there's a willin' woman about... not that I get flush from corpses or anything. I ain't crazy.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

About 5 years ago a friend of mine manually programmed the Chocobo theme from the Final Fantasy series into his cell phone as ring tone. We all decided he had far too much time on his hands, though his geek cred was much higher than ours. Another friend was inspired to try and manually program the FF7 boss battle music into his own phone in response, but it ended up sounding like butt.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I panicked for a second. I forgot what I was having for dinner. Then I remembered I took pork chops out. I had green curry chicken last night, and I suspect there will be another thai meal (this time, out) in my future this week. Or maybe the excellent Italian place nearby. That might need to wait until payday/Thursday.

I have no actual food in my house, but I suspect this is going to be another eat at work every night week, so it's sort of moot.

I miss the tiki restaurant already.

tiki restaurant?

I have a yen to build a backyard tiki-shack.

Kaitlin in a series? That's so ridiculous it makes my head hurt. She was in, what, 2 episodes? No. Way.

Am tired now but I'm vowing not to go to sleep until I get back from Spanish class. Perhaps that's a little hasty, given that I'm still recovering from red eye flight.

tiki restaurant?

I went up to SF with Alibelle this weekend to have dinner with G&J (you met them at my b-day) at the tiki restaurant in the Fairmont. Fun!

I was wondering if it was the Fairmount because that's the only one I know of, except Trader Vics. Sounds fun!

The status is NOT quo.

Kat, I read your LJ post about the diving and the whale song--I am madly jealous! It sounds like you had an incredible time. Welcome back!

Things that are much harder than they should be: trying to fish your keys out of your pocket and unlock your office door while holding a power supply, a cup of way too hot (temp-wise) chili, a half-pint of milk, a spoon and two packages of crackers. Thankfully the only casualties were the crackers and I was planning on crushing them up for the chili anyway.

I'll try just about anything that doesn't move of its own volition on the plate.

What if the bit you're to eat isn't moving? Is dismembered, even?

I might. And I might even eat something that's twitching. Would depend greatly on context and my overall mood.

And I want a custom ringtone that sounds like a classic telephone. 1970's era would be fine, but something even older would be amusing.

If someone cuts through a cable out in the dirt somewhere, I can be without internet access all day!

I am tech support for a weird collection of very specific utilities that only people in a certain field care about. I am also a lot of other things, none terribly adept, but I do dabble in some programming (which I hate) because I can figure out most code if I stare at it for a week or two (which I hate.) I have a degree in physics. Basically? I can learn. And write. A bit.

And now I can drive home.

Thanks, Kristin.

It was so cool to hear the whales. We also did a whale watch the afternoon we dove (thus freeing us up to drive up to Haleakala the next day). We saw a calf playing, learning how to breech, spy hop, head slap. you name it. The boat had a hydrophone that they dropped into the water so you could hear the whales while on board. It was obviously much clearer than when we were diving. But so very cool.

Little known whale song facts: All whales who are sinigng in a given location, sing the same tune. The song changes as they vary the song little by little and all the other whales then follow or they understand to shift the song. this is cool enough on it's own.

The song in Lahaina, though, is identical to the song in Japan and the song in Baja. And the song shifts at the same time.
