Ooh, yeah, I get that one too.
Really, living by oneself really lessens the Peeve for me. But it all comes out at work or the road.
I had the World's Stupidest Ushers last weekend. I wanted to bang their heads together, and watch them cry. Grr.

Someone had mentioned that the Krumholtz character didn't have the right body language -- I'm assuming there was stuff revealed about his character in the earlier eps that doesn't jibe with how he moves? He seemed fine to uninitiated me.
'Twas I. Last week he was hunched over his calculations and scurrying from blackboard to blackboard like Igor. I got the impression that the character isn't meant to connect to the world like the rest of us--he connects through numbers, and is, for lack of a better descriptor, borderline autistic. In last night's ep he had no self-restrictive body-language in a couple of long shots. He could have been Mr. Average Surfer Dude. A small thing, but for me, it jarred because it was at odds with the way the character was set up previously.
You know playing "Blood, Sugar, Sex Magic" really loud in the morning does wonders for one's outlook on the day.

Why, do you now plan on having all four today?
OOh, that's a good CD. Good memories....the ones that remain, I mean.

Did you see the pilot episode? Because I saw the same discontinuity after watching last week's ep and then watching the pilot. In the pilot he's more like he was last night.
Happy Birthday Victor!
Florida has official memorial things they put by the side of the road for one year if the family requests. [link] They allow the homemade type wreaths and such until they mow the side of the road, or it is replaced with the official marker. It caused a bit of a controversy at the time they started this program because the state was going to use crosses. It is a plain round marker.
I celebrate loved ones memories remembering their birth dates. I have managed to forget the actual date of death of my dad, husband, nephew, and others. It was a deliberate effort to forget and I am grateful for my wicked bad memory that way.
Oh I like StY and StE! I have called Brendon Jr. #1 for many years as a tribute to Star Trek. I don't call Bobby #2 though. He has many other names that I use for him, nice ones. We just got home from the boys getting their butts kicked in basketball.
Tonight I am going to Miami to see the Heat kick the Bulls butts. Mostly I am going to check out the butts, and arms, and legs....
Many Happy Returns of the Day, Victor
Happy Birthday, Victor! I hope it's filled with poetry and ferrets and treats.
Gang culture out in California does all kinds of memorializing. There's this whole thing with airbrushed t-shirts, or painting people on your lowrider. It's really hangs on to the wound of death in a way. And of course, there's the long tradition of gang girls who tattoo a tear under their eye for every year their boyfriend is in jail.
In Greece there are little roadside shrines to mark accidents. They are pretty clearly religious, and are tended for many many years.
