Swouncing

I have no idea how to translate that into Fahrenheit

temperature convertor (Fred, of course, is right).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay, Dubrovnik is on the list too, then. So far I'm most entranced by Madagascar.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Did you put them both on the list twice?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Friends of ours had a cat and brought a little terrier puppy into the house. MacGuff, the puppy, loved to chase the cat, who was not amused. The cat would flee up the stairs with MacGuff in hot (and loud) pursuit, then turn around at the top and come back down.

Poor MacGuff's wee little puppy legs weren't long enough for him to go down the stairs, so he'd be stuck there until someone came and took pity on him, while the cat lounged at the bottom.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Madagascar is second on my list of places to visit, Greece being first (especially Crete).

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I saw a house for sale in my hood and looked it up online. $500K+. It's a 3 BR, but still. I forgot how much more the detached houses were compared to co-ops. sheesh.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Has this been linked yet?

It's official:

Martha Stewart, you're hired. The masterminds behind "The Apprentice" -- Donald Trump and Mark Burnett -- and NBC announced Wednesday that Stewart will host "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart."

"Mark and I have always admired her," Trump said. "She's a very brave woman. She's built a multimillion-dollar empire. It was an easy decision. We think this will be an absolutely tremendous success."

Since Stewart is not allowed to conduct business while in prison, Burnett made it clear his deal with Stewart was completed before the domestic mogul entered prison -- although he's made monthly visits to her.

"Since the last four months, Martha's been incarcerated and has given no input," said Burnett.

Filming on her "Apprentice" could begin as early as March when Stewart goes from prison to house arrest. Under her probation, she'll be allowed to work outside of her home, which Burnett said may include shooting the show.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

My cat would get my parent's dog to chase him so he could taunt. The cat would scoot under the child gate at the door to my room leaving the dog stuck on the other side. As soon as the dog would give up and turn to leave, the cat would sprint toward the door and skid to a halt right at the gate. After a while, the dog started trying to fake out the cat by pretending he was gonna leave and turning back quickly. It was quite the game.
