Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

How 'bout Johnny?

What is even happening?

(except of course in the sense that many of my dreams have taken place in it).
Okay, this made me teary. Congrats Burrell, and family!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oh yes, on the congrats, Burrell!

I celebrated my Snow Day by napping through 90% of the afternoon or nearly. Had a dream and all, so I was really out, too. Except that now I'm still sleepy....

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

How 'bout Johnny?

Nah. And I hear Gavin is taken, although I do like the name a lot.

Okay, this made me teary.

You are so sweet. I actually meant it in another way. I meant that I often have dreams that take place in my house, which makes sense given the fact that it's been home for as long as I can remember.

Right now I am making my students write a paper about their dreams, so I have dreams on my mind.

Now tagless for your comfort.

My cat is the most docile cat ever, but my vet has a particular fear of white cats, and treats him with caution.

Your vet is wise. My white cat is Satan incarnate.

Congrats, Burrell!

Gavin is also walking!

He skipped crawl. My nephew had no time to be messing around with crawling, no. He went from wobbly lifting himself up in his crib to wobbly stumbling from object to object and can now get himself pretty well across a room with the toddler drunk-walk.

Trust my rage

Cute Nonian doggies. Also, I had to click on the picture of the apple, because I have to ask, are they good?

Thanks, Jen (and sumi)! That apple was unanimously agreed to be the best treat we all had over Christmas. Joe sent it to me from Harry and David (www.harryanddavid.com). It took us three days to eat it all, but it was fantastic.

ETA: Okay, having thought about it, I think the apple came from Williams-Sonoma. Harry and David has good stuff, but I don't think they have that apple.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

That's because Gavin is just so advanced, Allyson.

He skipped crawl.

DH and his brother both skipped crawling too.

All I can think is, Gavin's poor mother! Once they walk, they start moving around so fast, too. She's going to be busy.

Hee. One of my friend's kid did that really early. Except he hadn't learned to fall yet. After a couple weeks of faceplants (she tells me you get really dirty looks and beratings carting around a kid with shiners) he quit for about a month or so. Scooted on his butt. By the time he tried again, he figured out how to fall.

Congrats, Burrell!

I just got my first fan campaign email. To raise money for an ad campaign. To save Hubble. Not sure whether to laugh or cry or...what.
