Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

Happy Birthday, Anne!

Oh dear lord am I tired. Getting up at 8 on a Sunday after being up most of the night is evil. Someone wire me up to the caffeine IV drip, STAT.

I never knew about the Chicken Dance, until I started dating my husband, and attended his family's weddings with him. Now, we grew up about 5 miles from each other, are only 3 years apart in age, and hold some ethinicity in common, but I was spared the chicken dance until my early/mid-twenties.

We did the Hora (I think to Hava Nagila, unless Hava Nagila was also played), and some Greek wedding dance. We're not Greek in the least, and although some names in one line of the family tree indicate we may have had Jewish ancestors, as far as we can find back (a few centuries) they all identified as Christian.

Ah, the blessed innocence of youth. What about YMCA? Another obligatory wedding atrocity of my youth. Sadly? No Time Warp.

Speaking of atrocities of my youth, Red Sonja is on the WB 11. I'd forgotten Ennio Morricone did the music for it. Brigitte just did some non-emoting to the cheesiest dead ancestor special effect evah, and we're off to the races. I think I'll jump in the shower instead.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I finally figured out why I love the chicken dance so much -- I don't tend to want to move my feet a lot while dancing, and that's the hallmark of the chicken dance!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Kissing is optional, though desired.

There was no dancing at my wedding. Just mingling. Therefore, NO FREAKING CHICKEN DANCE.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

A white cat wearing a little black coat just strolled through our yard. Never seen this cat before but it was very jaunty and didn't look lost or anything. A cat in a coat, what's up with that?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

A cat in a coat, what's up with that?

Was it smiling? Did you see any rabbits that looked a bit tardy?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Therefore, NO FREAKING CHICKEN DANCE.

It's a good thing you're not in the Midwest then, because I'm fairly certain you wouldn't be considered legally married here.
